Firing fee billing

Bill firing fees without paper slips or spreadsheets

Set up your pricing model once and log every piece in seconds. At the end of the month the billing is ready, without you adding anything up.

Your pricing model, your rules

Per kilo, per piece, tiered by temperature or a flat rate. You pick a template and add your own rules: minimum price, member rate, included quota.

  • Per kilo
  • Temperature tiers
  • Minimum price per piece
  • Round up to the next 100 g or full kilo
  • Separate prices for members and guests
  • Included allowances
  • Fixed-price exceptions (e.g. plates)
  • Per-piece extras (e.g. glaze)
  • Express surcharge
  • Kiln hire (whole kiln or shelf share)
  • Round to 50 cents or 1 €

You set up exactly these rules once in WheelOwl. After that, WheelOwl does the maths at the kiln.

Log pieces as you load the kiln, not at month end

Piece on the scale, pick the member, enter the weight. WheelOwl works out the price on the spot. It works on your phone, right next to the scale.

  • Price appears straight away, by your rules
  • Load several logged pieces into a firing at once
  • A photo per piece, when you need one
  • You can still correct entries until the kiln starts

Does the firing pay for itself?

For each kiln you note what a firing costs, per firing type. Every firing then shows what was billed, what it cost and what is left.

  • Cost per kiln and firing type, set up once
  • Profit or loss per firing at a glance
  • Several kilns, each with its own cost

Every number stays traceable

For every price WheelOwl keeps how it came about: weight, plan, rule, allowance deducted. Change your price list later and past statements stay exactly as they were.

  • Weight, plan and rule stored per line
  • Past firings do not shift with the price list
  • When a member asks, you see right on the piece how its price came about

Monthly billing and export

One summary per member: membership fee, firing fees, paid or open. For your accounting you export it all as CSV.

  • Membership fee and firing charges in one summary
  • Paid or open, per statement
  • Member and guest prices shown separately
  • CSV export for accounting
